About the HopeHealth Walk for Alzheimer’s

The HopeHealth Walk for Alzheimer’s is an extraordinary event sustained by ordinary people. For over 25 years, the Walk has generated thousands of dollars through individual contributions a powerful demonstration of neighbors caring for the people in the community.

The Walk brings together people from many different communities and cultures—and attracts parents, kids, students and corporations. Everyone comes to offer hope to people dealing with the hardships of having a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease and to support the programs that help those living with the disease, their caregivers, healthcare professionals and community agencies.

Alzheimer’s disease is a fatal, degenerative disease of the brain that slowly diminishes a person’s ability to reason, remember, respond to the environment, and carry out the most basic tasks.

The HopeHealth Walk for Alzheimer’s has been a tradition for over 25 years. It is the principal fundraiser for Hope Dementia & Alzheimer’s Services. Thanks to the compassionate support of donors like you, Hope Dementia & Alzheimer’s Services is able to provide an array of programs and services to meet the needs of the community we serve. These programs include caregiver needs assessment and care planning, education, support groups, telephone helpline, respite grants, and memory screenings.

  • Development of care management plans
  • Ongoing family support and counseling sessions
  • Support groups
  • Respite grants
  • Memory screenings
  • Referrals to local agencies

Professional services:

  • Dementia certification and ongoing education for healthcare professionals
  • Annual professional conference focusing on current trends in dementia care education

Raise as much as you can!

We value every contribution from every walker so we don’t set a fundraising minimum. Yet every dollar counts—and can make a difference for someone living with the disease, their caregiver and their family. We rely on you, your friends, and your family to raise as much as you can.

If you need help or ideas, we are here at HopeHealth to talk to you and give you practical answers. Give us a call at (508) 957-0282 or Walk@HopeHealthCo.org.
